Cairngorms National Park: Saving Our Species
Following hunting and habitat loss, the Eurasian crane is all but extinct in Scotland. But work with local communities is underway to restore wetlands and create crane-friendly habitats within Cairngorms National Park, aiming to increase the parks biodiversity and reduce the impact of seasonal flooding made worse by climate change. It is important that, as a nation, we ensure the preservation of the species' present within our country as future generations deserve the opportunity to witness and learn about such species' first-hand. The animals themselves deserve a life which is fulfilling and enjoyable on this planet; they deserve an existence that we, as humans, do not disrupt too greatly.
